Members are summoned to attend a FACILITIES AND ASSET MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
MEETING to be held on TUESDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2021,
AT RYDE METHODIST CHURCH, GARFIELD ROAD, RYDE commencing at 2PM for the purpose
of transacting the business as set out within the agenda below.
AGENDA
PUBLIC QUESTION TIME
To receive and consider questions submitted by members of the public (limited to a maximum
of 15 minutes).
1. APOLOGIES
To receive any apologies for absence.
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
To receive any declarations of pecuniary or non-pecuniary (personal) interests relating
to items on the agenda.
3. REQUESTS FOR DISPENSATIONS
To receive and consider granting any written requests from Members for
dispensations in respect of disclosable pecuniary interests.
4. MINUTES
To take as read and confirm as accurate the attached minutes of the meeting held on
8 June 2021. (PAPER A)
5. NETWORK RYDE
To receive the approved minutes from previous two Network Ryde Management Sub-
Committee meetings on 3 March 2021 and 9 June 2021 and the recommendation from
the meeting held on 15 September 2021. (PAPER B)
To receive an update from the Youth Work Manager on Network Ryde and St
Thomas’s church.

COMMUNITY CONNECTOR REPORT
To receive a presentation from Ryde Community Connector, Steve Johnson,
on
currents works and future plans.
7.
GENERAL UPDATES
To note the following updates:
• Western Public Toilets (Ryde interchange)
• Appley Tower Leak Issue
• Ryde Skatepark
• Insurance claim for flooding at Council offices
8.
INHOUSE CLEANERS’ PROPOSAL
To consider proposals on in house cleaners for all Town Council facilities.
9.
RYDE TOWN COUNCIL VAN
To discuss options around a possible additional van for the Town Council.
10.
ALLOTMENT UPDATE AND RENT INCREASE
To note the update on and consider proposals regarding rent increases.
11.
SENSORY IMPAIRMENT
To appoint a minimum of two members to join the sensory impairment working party.
12.
FACILITIES APPRENTICESHIP
To consider recommendations from the Personnel Panel for the Town Councils
Facilities Officer to complete a Level 2 property maintenance apprenticeship.
13.
BEACH FRONT OPERATIONS END OF SEASON DE-BRIEF
To receive an update from the Beach Front Operations team. (PAPER C)
14.
VECTIS HALL
To consider clearing the front grounds and replacing the current temporary fencing.
15.
EXCLUSION OF PUBLIC AND PRESS
In view of the confidential nature of the business to be discussed it is advisable in the
public interest that the public and press be excluded for the following two items, and
they are requested to withdraw - in accordance with Public Bodies (Admission to
Meetings) Act 1960 s1 (2).

16. SECURITY CONTRACT
To ratify the decision taken around the Town Councils security contract.

17. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
To note that the next scheduled Facilities and Asset Management Committee will be
held on Tuesday, 7 December 2021 at 2pm at the Methodist Church, Garfield Road in
Ryde.
