CLIMATE CHANGE, ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY POLICY


Introduction:

Ryde Town Council recognises the importance of protecting and preserving our environment for the benefit of current and future generations. We acknowledge the urgent need to address environmental challenges and commit to sustainable practices in our operations and decision- making processes. This Environmental and Sustainability Policy outlines our commitment to minimising environmental impact, conserving resources, and promoting a sustainable and resilient community.

Policy Statement:

Ryde Town Council is committed to promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable practices throughout its operations, services, and activities.

WE WILL STRIVE TO:

Environmental Responsibility:

  1. Comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations, and standards.

  2. Minimise our carbon footprint by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, and waste generation.

  3. Promote the use of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient technologies.
