Members are summoned to attend a COMMUNITY PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

to be held on TUESDAY, 11 JUNE 2024 at the RYDE BAPTIST CHURCH, GEORGE

STREET CENTRE, RYDE commencing at 7.00PM for the purpose of transacting the business as set out within the agenda below.


IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING THE ASKING OF QUESTIONS

DUE TO THE UPCOMING GENERAL ELECTION BEING HELD ON THURSDAY, 4 JULY 2024 AND THE NEED TO OBSERVE THE PRE-ELECTION PERIOD REGULATIONS, THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC OR MEMBER QUESTIONS TAKEN AT THIS MEETING.

    2. Application No: 24/00737/HOU

      Parish(es): Ryde Ward(s): Binstead and Fishbourne Location: Fairways, Quarr Road, Binstead, Ryde, PO33 4EL Proposal: Proposed outdoor kitchen area with landscaping.


      The following planning applications have been considered under delegated powers by the Chair of the Committee, the Vice Chair and the Place, Neighbourhood and Planning Officer and they propose no objections.

        Parish(es): Ryde Ward(s): Ryde North West Location: 9 St Thomas Street, Ryde, PO33 2PA

        Proposal: Listed Building Consent for replacement side-front door.

      2. Application No: 24/00703/HOU

      Parish(es): Ryde Ward(s): Ryde Monktonmead Location: 81 St Johns Road, Ryde, PO33 2RP

      Proposal: Demolition of shed; proposed single storey rear extension; proposed detached outbuilding forming utility and summer room; alterations to front bay window.


  6. DECISIONS TAKEN


    To note the decisions taken by the Isle of Wight Council’s Planning Department since 21 May 2024 (PAPER B).


  7. ELECTION OF COMMUNITY PLANNING COMMITTEE MEMBERS TO THE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY SUBCOMMITTEE

    To elect three members to the new subcommittee.


  8. ENFORCEMENT – RYDE WALKABOUT UPDATE


    To receive an update on the recent walk around Ryde with the Town Councils Enforcement Officer to identify sites that could require enforcement action.


  9. GROUNDS MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS – RYDE ESPLANADE

    To note a report on the current status of the watering and planting works as well as future opportunities (PAPER C).

  10. WASTE COLLECTION IN GEORGE STREET


    To receive an update on the ongoing problems around waste collection.

  11. VECTIS HALL DECORATIVE BOARDS

    To note for the record, the acquisition, through the Public Realm Budget, to five decorative screens to be attached to the Heras Fencing at Vectis Hall, agreed by members via email correspondence.
